About me

I am currently a staff scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, developing computational models for electrochemical systems. I was previously a postdoc at LLNL in the same area. Previously, I completed my Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at Stanford, where I was a former NDSEG fellow; my Ph.D. advisor was Prof. Eric S.G. Shaqfeh. From 2013-2014, I was an M.Phil. student in Earth Sciences at the BP Institute for Multiphase Flow at Cambridge, studying under a Churchill Scholarship. In Cambridge, I was advised by Profs. C.P. Caulfield and Andrew W. Woods. Before that, I was an undergraduate in mechanical engineering at Johns Hopkins, and I did research under the guidance of Prof. Rajat Mittal.

Currently, I am interested in:

  • fluid mechanics

  • mass transfer

  • electrochemical CO2 reduction

  • energy storage

  • topology optimization

  • applied math

  • computational modeling

Education

  • Ph.D. Mechanical Engineering, Stanford University, 2020

  • M.S. Mechanical Engineering, Stanford University, 2016

  • M.Phil. Earth Sciences, University of Cambridge, 2014

  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, 2013
